Easter Egg -- A hidden message, graphic, or other feature built into a program that users discover by typing or choosing undocumented commands.
e-business -- Abbreviation for electronic business, conducting business through electronic means.
e-commerce -- Abbreviation for electronic commerce, transacting business through electronic means.
e-mail -- Abbreviation for electronic mail, a system for exchanging messages through networked computers.
e-mail address -- A mailbox location on the Internet.
echo -- An electronic transmission glitch that causes repeated chatting in a conference room.
emcee -- A moderator or event host in an auditorium chat session. See auditorium.
emoticon -- A symbol consisting of characters found on any keyboard that is used to give and gain insight on emotional states. See Computing Acronyms: Emoticons.
encoding -- A way of translating document files that enables them to be served from other computer platforms.
enhanced TV -- A television with a wraparound Web page.
EPS -- Acronym for Encapsulated PostScript. See Postscript.
ethernet -- A method to network computers together in a local area network (LAN). See LAN.
external image -- An image that is not an inline image and thus part of an HTML document, but that resides in a separate file and is accessed by means of a hypertext link. See inline image.
